Health privacy questions
Plain answers about what happens to your health information at Flore. The details are in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy and Privacy Policy.
What health information does Flore collect?
What you tell us and what your tests show: quiz answers (gut, mood, energy, age, and on our peptides quiz, whether you use weight-loss medications or peptides), your results, microbiome test results, your personalized formula, and anything you enter in the portal or app. We ask for your consent before the first quiz question.
Do you sell my health information?
We never sell your answers, results or test data. Some state laws count sending quiz activity to advertising companies as a "sale". We only do that as described below, and you can stop it at any time.
Do Microsoft, Google or other companies see my quiz answers?
No. Your answers and results are never sent to them. On the gut-brain quiz, Microsoft Advertising and Google receive the page view when you open the page, as they do on every page of our site. They receive the quiz steps you reach and your sign-up only if you tick the optional sharing box. On the peptides quiz, Microsoft receives the page view, your quiz steps and your sign-up only if you choose "Share". Microsoft and Google may also use this under their own terms.
Is Flore covered by HIPAA?
When you buy from Flore directly, Flore is not a HIPAA "covered entity". Your information is protected by federal consumer protection law, state health data laws such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, and our own policies.
Who inside Flore can see my information?
Only the people who need it for their work, such as the team that formulates your probiotic or answers your questions.
Who outside Flore receives it?
Service providers who work for us under contract, such as our email delivery and store platform providers, who may use it only to provide their service to us. The lab that runs a test you order. Anyone you ask us to share with, such as your health care provider. And, for quiz activity only, Microsoft and Google, as explained above.
Is my data used for research?
Only if you say yes. Research is a separate, optional box, and you can change your mind at any time.
Can I see what you have about me?
Yes. Email [email protected] with the subject "Health Data Request". Within 45 days we will send you a copy, plus a list of everyone we have shared it with.
Can I delete it?
Yes. Use the same email. We delete it, tell our service providers and anyone we shared it with to delete it, and clear it from backups within six months. If you have an open order or subscription, we will tell you what we need to keep to finish it.
I said yes on a quiz. Can I take it back?
Yes, anytime. Email [email protected] to withdraw your consent to collect your answers or to share your quiz activity. Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop marketing emails. Withdrawing stops future use, but it does not undo what already happened.
Can I take the quiz for my child?
Yes. A parent or guardian can answer the gut-brain quiz for their child. Our quizzes are for adults, so children should not take them on their own.
Do you track where I am?
We do not collect precise location, and we never target ads at people near clinics, pharmacies or other health care sites.
What if you say no to my request?
We will tell you why, and you can appeal by replying "Appeal". If you are still not satisfied, you can contact your state attorney general.
