Who publishes this content

Flore (formerly Sun Genomics) is a personalized-probiotic company. We operate a CLIA/CAP-certified laboratory and use whole-genome sequencing to read a person's gut microbiome and build a custom formulation from it. Over roughly a decade that work spans ~18,392 customers, ~23,000 microbiome tests, and ~40,000 custom formulations, rated 4.4★ across ~318 reviews. That real operating experience is what informs everything we publish.

Who reviews it

Every article is reviewed for scientific accuracy and compliance by the Flore Science Team. We attribute review to the team as an organization; when an individual scientist or clinician signs off on a page, that named reviewer will be shown in the byline. Until then, the responsible entity is the Flore Science Team.

Where our science comes from

  • Peer-reviewed literature indexed on PubMed/NCBI — each factual claim links to the specific study.
  • Government and public-health bodies such as the NIH and NIDDK.
  • Flore's own operating data, described transparently and only in aggregate. We never present internal figures as a substitute for published science, and we do not disclose proprietary methods or any individual's data.

We do not cite a study unless we have read it, and we do not invent statistics, studies, or citations. Where evidence is early or mixed, we say so.

The limits of what we claim

Our content is educational information about how the body normally works — the structure and function of the gut, the microbiome, and the gut-brain axis. Under the U.S. Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), that is the scope we stay within. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, statements have not been evaluated by the FDA, and nothing here is medical advice or a substitute for a licensed clinician.

How we keep content current

Articles carry a “Last updated” date. We revisit content when new peer-reviewed evidence changes the picture, when a source is retracted or superseded, or on a periodic review pass. Corrections are made in place.
